Westmount, 18 June 14 – The Town of Hampstead held its annual family day in Hamspstead Park on 11 June 2014. The Royal Montreal Regiment was on hand to participate in the annual event and this years interactive display allowed participants of all ages the opportunity to experience a small slice of military life by visiting tents, playing with radios, and touching various equipment soldiers use on a daily basis, including different uniforms, gas masks, etc. RMR soldiers were on hand to teach young visitors the art of camouflage and concealment, an essential skill every infantry soldier must master. Fortunately for all, the weather cooperated and the day was a great success.
Both Hampstead and the RMR are celebrating their 100th birthdays this year. The RMR was awarded freedom of the city from Hampstead in 2008 ( http://www.
