OTTAWA, 12 April 2014: The Royal Montreal Regiment was honoured Saturday 12 April 2014, along with the other three Regiments who are celebrating Centennials this year (PPCLI, R de Hull, and R22eR). In a stirring ceremony, five members of each Regiment marched out in the midst of nearly 1,000 guests while the introduction & short history of the Regiments was read out to compliment an audiovisual display. The RMR soldiers who paraded out in formation to represent the Regiment were: Corporals Duma, Lescarbeau, McLeod, Tam, and Private Andrews-Jackson and they were displayed on massive screens throughout the hall. As the contingent was inspected, each of the soldiers received the Commander of the Army’s personal coin to reward them for their exemplary performance.
The RMR Foundation also reserved a table for the Regiment to be properly represented by serving members such as the DCO (Major Siket) and the RSM (CWO Crawford). Other RMR’s present were Capt Delplace, MWO Cochrane, WO Langois, as well as the RMR’s Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel, LCol (ret’d) Robinson.
