Westmount, Quebec – 28 March 2016: The 2015-2016 Montreal Military Ball Hockey League Season ended for the RMR last Thursday night in a tightly contested single elimination game that was bitterly fought until the final whistle. The 15-16 season will be regarded as one of the most controversial on record that saw a number of unpopular changes made to the rules. Some of the changes included a change to the length of regular season (14 games instead of 16) and a change in venues which resulted in the RMR not being able to host games at the Westmount Armoury for the first time in over 20 years!
The tight 9-7 loss to the 34th Combat Engineering Regiment was a disappointing end to a roller coaster season that saw the RMR field 5 different goaltenders over 15 games. The RMR is considered to be one of the toughest teams to play against year in and year out, and this season was no exception. Despite two teams folding and regular game cancellations due to a lack of players; the RMR was always ready to play and fielded a full line up on most nights.
Despite the tough loss the RMR should be proud of the way they competed week in and week out. All who donned the celebrated jersey represented the Regiment in an exemplary fashion.
