THIS DAY IN RMR HISTORY – 17 August 1914 – Following the very “soggy” parade of the Montreal Garrison on the Champ de Mars the previous Friday evening, independent company training continued for the next week in the armouries of the three founding Regiments, and in such open spaces as could be found nearby. The news from Europe was far from comforting.
