BROCKVILLE – 13 February 2014: In a dignified ceremony held in the beautiful Brockville armoury on a snowy evening in February, LCol (ret’d) Richard Garber was installed as the Rifles’ new Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel. Seven former RMR’s attended the ceremony to wish him well. LCol Garber rose from the ranks in the RMR, joining the Regiment in 1978 as an Infantry soldier. He was commissioned in 1980, assumed various command and staff responsibilities within the RMR, including command of “B” Coy (the RMR’s operational rifle company at the time) and eventually become the RMR’s Deputy Commanding Officer. He transferred to the Brockville Rifles in 1997 where he became Commanding Officer from 2000 – 2003. The RMR’s extended Regimental family wishes him well in his new position.
