Westmount, 17 May 14 – RMR Association (Branch 14) of the Royal Canadian Legion regrets to announce the death of past-president Comrade Nino Lambertucci yesterday afternoon at the Verdun hospital.
Nino was a beloved member of the RMR’s extended family and had been a steady hand for numerous functions, none the least as the Curator of the Regimental Museum. Nino served in the museum, attended Regimental functions, served as an ambassador in the community for the Regiment, and in 2013 was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal from Mr L’Italien, from the Directorate of History and Heritage. Nino has also been appointed an Honoray Lieutenant in The Royal Montreal Regiment in the early 2000’s to recognize the exceptional support that he provided the Regiment.
Nino’s impact in the Branch and the Regiment can not be understated. At his request, his remains will be cremated without ceremony however the Regiment has requested permission from Nino’s family to conduct a service of remembrance when appropriate Details will be published as they come available.
