Ottawa, 09 May 14 – The Royal Montreal Regiment was one of 63 units in the Canadian Armed Forces who were awarded the AFGHANISTAN theatre honour yesterday in Ottawa.
Theatre honours, a form of battle honour given to publicly recognize a Canadian Armed Forces unit for successful participation in a theatre armed conflict.
This is the first new battle honour awarded to the Regiment since the end of the Second World War.
