Westmount, QC – 17 October 2014: Sixteen\u00a0members of the\u00a0Royal Montreal Regiment (RMR), which included the Platoon Commander (Pl Comd), were designated to be part of the Enemy Force Platoon\u00a0(ENFOR)\u00a0on Exercise RABID DOG<\/a><\/strong> held in Valcartier<\/strong><\/a>, QC on 26 – 28 September 2014.<\/p>\n

The purpose of\u00a0ENFOR was to represent the enemy for training purposes in 1 Platoon’s (1 Pl)\u00a0scenario. Upon arrival in Valcartier,\u00a0the\u00a0RMR’s ENFOR immediately\u00a0broke\u00a0off from the rest of the RMR\u00a0and joined members from the Black\u00a0Watch<\/strong><\/a> and Canadian Grenadier Guards<\/strong><\/a> who made up the rest of the ENFOR Platoon. While the rest of the RMR’s 1 Pl set\u00a0themselves up for a night on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Charlie,\u00a0ENFOR made it’s way to a small tactical hide in the woods just outside the FOB.\u00a0The next morning at the break of dawn,\u00a0the hide was collapsed and the ENFOR made it’s way to another hide which would be their home\u00a0until the end\u00a0of the GPE.<\/p>\n

For the remainder of the exercise, the ENFOR\u00a0provided\u00a0a realistic training experience for members of 1\u00a0Pl while also honing their own skills. ENFOR\u00a0were tasked with defending the FIBUA house from recce patrols, and successfully\u00a0disrupted one such patrol, as well as\u00a0locating and harassing\u00a01 PL’s hide which, much to the dismay of 1 PL members, was done repeatedly\u00a0with speed and efficiency for over four hours.<\/p>\n

ENFOR\u00a0was also used\u00a0during 1 Pl’s section attacks and\u00a0platoon attacks. Overall, the GPE 1 experience of\u00a0ENFOR was\u00a0an excellent opportunity for members to refresh their recce, section attack, and patrolling skills\u00a0all the while providing invaluable training experience for their 1\u00a0Pl counterparts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
