M.S. Mercer of Toronto, Brigadier of the First Infantry Brigade.\u00a0 This brigade includes all the Ontario volunteers but [except] the 48<sup>th<\/sup> Highlanders of Toronto.\u00a0 Col. Mercer told <em>The Globe<\/em> that 112 members of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qor.com\/history\/ww1.html\">The Queen\u2019s Own of Toronto<\/a> had been transferred to The Royal Montreal Rifles [sic], to bring the latter up to war strength.\u00a0 The Queen\u2019s Own was over strength.\u00a0 Col.
