S.B. Steele of the Lord Strathcona\u2019s Horse, President; Col. M.C. Mercer of the Queen\u2019s Own, and Col. D. Watson of Quebec, to inquire into the record of the officers now at the camp who had volunteered for service with the overseas expeditionary force.\u00a0 Every officer below the rank of battalion commander had to pass an examination, and merit alone was to count in the making of appointments.\u00a0 <a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[1]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<pre><a href=\"#_ednref1\" name=\"_edn1\">[1]<\/a>\u00a0 From: W.
