Westmount, Quebec – 23 May 2017: \u00a0The Canadian Jewish Experience, proudly celebrating Canada\u2019s 150 years,\u00a0invites the friends & members of the RMR regimental family to a unique opportunity:\u00a0A panel composed of Jewish veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces who will\u00a0discuss their military experience as Jews, spanning eight decades of\u00a0service, and specific issues encountered and surmounted.<\/p>\n

Panel\u00a0will be moderated by Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Garber, CD, who\u00a0served 32 years in the Army Reserve, including command of the\u00a0Brockville Rifles regiment.<\/p>\n

Honorary Colonel David Hart, MM, CD<\/strong>
\nHCol Hart, aged 99 \u00be, was awarded the Military Medal for bravery on the battlefield as a\u00a0young Sergeant at Dieppe. He is the longest serving Honorary Colonel in the Canadian\u00a0Army.<\/p>\n

Major-General (retired) Edward Fitch, OMM, MSM, CD<\/strong>
\nMGen Fitch is only the second Jewish member of the Canadian Armed Forces to attain\u00a0the rank of major-general. He served multiple tours with NATO and UN forces around\u00a0the world.<\/p>\n

Lieutenant-Colonel (retired) Dr. Markus Martin, CD, MDCM<\/strong>
\nDr. Markus Martin, a distinguished Montreal-based physician, commanded 51st Medical\u00a0Company in Canada’s Army Reserve prior to his operational deployment to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
