In 1989 he co-authored\u00a0<em>The Royal Montreal Regiment: 1945 &#8211; 1989<\/em> with Allan Patrick and published by The Royal Montreal Regt., Westmount, 1991. One of the most valuable aspects of\u00a0the book was the &#8216;Customs &amp; Traditions&#8217; annex of the book (affectionately known as &#8220;Volume 3&#8221;). This annex has proved invaluable in the subsequent years as a guide for RMR leaders.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em>MILITARY CAREER (credit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roman_Jarymowycz\">Wikipedia<\/a>): Roman Jarymowycz began his military career as a student at <a title=\"Loyola College (Montreal)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Loyola_College_(Montreal)\">Loyola College<\/a> in 1964 in the <a class=\"new\" title=\"Canadian Officers\u2019 Training Corps (page does not exist)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Canadian_Officers%E2%80%99_Training_Corps&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Canadian Officers\u2019 Training Corps<\/a>. Eventually he was promoted to <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Lieutenant-Colonel\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lieutenant-Colonel\">Lieutenant-Colonel<\/a> and Commanding Officer of the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Royal Canadian Hussars\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Royal_Canadian_Hussars\">Royal Canadian Hussars<\/a> armoured reconnaissance regiment during the late 1970s and early 1980s. A dedicated Cold Warrior, he served in Europe several times on <a title=\"NATO\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NATO\">NATO<\/a> exercises.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em>After the Hussars he served as a Senior Staff Officer (Armoured) for <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Land Force Quebec Area\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Land_Force_Quebec_Area\">Land Force Quebec Area<\/a> Headquarters. Perhaps his most important appointment came in 1982 when he became an instructor for the <a class=\"new\" title=\"Militia Command Staff Course (page does not exist)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Militia_Command_Staff_Course&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Militia Command Staff Course<\/a> at the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Canadian Land Force Command and Staff College\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Canadian_Land_Force_Command_and_Staff_College\">Canadian Land Force Command and Staff College<\/a> at <a title=\"CFB Kingston\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CFB_Kingston\">CFB Kingston<\/a>. He was an instructor for over 15 years and in 1994 was made Dean of the Course. While this recognition is mostly ceremonial, it was a tribute to the great contribution he made to Canadian military education.
