He was 96-years old.<\/p>\n<p>Comrade Mann joined the RMR in 1939 and he landed in Scotland before being sent off to Aldershot for further training. \u00a0He served throughout the entire Second World War and he was also part of the Liberation of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>In the early 1970\u2019s, Comrade Mann along with two other RMR veterans from WW2, Major David Peebles and Lieutenant John Tough, were asked by the Honorary Colonel, Colonel J.C. Pratt, to build a Museum in the RMR in time for the Regiment\u2019s 60th anniversary to be celebrated in November 1974, \u00a0and the official opening was held on Friday 20th September 1974 by Brigadier W.S.G. Armour, M.B.E., the Colonel of the Prince of Wale\u2019s Own Regiment of Yorkshire, the RMR\u2019s British Allied Regiment. The RMR Museum was dedicated to the memory of the achievements and sacrifices of the members of the Regiment. It was fitting that Comarade Mann got to see the improvements to the RMR Museum that have been made recently, and he was briefed on the plans for future expansion when <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalmontrealregiment.com\/rmr-ww2-vet-helps-badge-new-soldiers\/\">he visited the RMR in September<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/barclayfuneralhome.com\/tribute\/details\/2383\/Wilfred-Mann\/obituary.html\"><strong>Funeral arrangements<\/strong><\/a> are scheduled for Wednesday 28 December 2016 in Brockville.\u00a0Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Wednesday December 28th, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service which will be held in the Chapel at 1:00 pm.
