Comrades from Branch 14 (RMR Association) gives donation to RMR Foundation representatives<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

04\u00a0May 2015, Westmount, QC – In a ceremony during the RMR’s annual Church Parade and battalion review held yesterday, the comrades of the RMR Association (Branch 14) of the Royal Canadian Legion<\/strong><\/a> presented a cheque to the RMR Foundation, a charity\u00a0that\u00a0began in the early\u00a01920’s to support the interests of the RMR, the militia, and veterans.<\/p>\n

Accepting the cheque on behalf of the RMR Foundation<\/a> was Lieutenant- Colonel Paul Langlais (Commanding Officer of the RMR), and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Colin Robinson, Vice-President of the RMR Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The donation is earmarked for the “RMR Soldiers Fund” and is used to\u00a0to assist RMR serving members in need, as well as provide support to the Regiment as requested through the CO. \u00a0Bravo to the comrades of the RMR Association (Branch 14) <\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for continuing to make a difference for Canada’s veterans in our community!<\/p>\n

About the RMR Association<\/a>, a.k.a. \u201cthe Branch\u201d:<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0They number well over 100 members and meet monthly in the RMR\u2019s armoury from September \u2013 May, with a break over the summer.\u00a0 The Branch\u2019s main focus is supporting veterans & the RMR Family, and promoting Remembrance through the conduct of the annual Poppy Campaign.\u00a0 In 2013, the Branch won a trophy for the best recruiting achievements in Quebec, and one of its members was recognized as the \u201cLegionnaire of the Year\u201d for Quebec.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The RMR Association also announced the launch of their Bursary Program<\/a> at the end of 2013 which is open to all members of the RMR Association, as well as there is an\u00a0ADDITIONAL<\/b> program for students available through the Legion: Quebec Provincial Command of The Royal Canadian Legion administers an independent Bursary Program for eligible applicants<\/a>.<\/p>\n
