Corps whose chief remark was \u00a0\u2018Gentlemen you are about to face a cunning, cruel, and unscrupulous enemy.\u00a0 If you make a mistake, you will not get the chance to make a second one.\u2019\u00a0 Battn. afterwards addressed by Lt.-Gen. Alderson, commanding the Canadian Divn.\u00a0 Just before dusk battalion left billets to proceed to the front line near the Rue Petillon (Fleurbaix Sector) opposite Fromelles where it took over the sub-sector held by a squadron of the Northumberland Hussars (Yeomanry), and the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Battn. Grenadier Guards, who were commanded by Lt.-Col. Fisher-Rowe, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in command Major Trotter.\u00a0 Relief completed in less than two hours.\u00a0 Guards handed over 3 cows for use of Bn. H.Q.\u201d<\/i> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalmontrealregiment.com\/?p=10736&amp;preview=true#_edn1\">[1]<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>THIS DAY IN RMR HISTORY:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cThe Guards, being veteran soldiers, had made themselves as comfortable as circumstances permitted, among their assets being three cows.\u00a0 These they presented to Lieut.-Col.
