The Battalion War Diarist wrote for this day: \u201cMusketry on <\/span>Durrington<\/span> Range<\/span>.\u201d [1]<\/em><\/p>\n

\"19<\/a>THIS DAY IN RMR HISTORY:\u00a0Durrington<\/span> is a village and <\/span>civil parish<\/span><\/a> in <\/span>Wiltshire<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>England<\/span><\/a>, about 10 miles (16\u00a0km) north of <\/span>Salisbury<\/span><\/a>, 30 miles (48\u00a0km) south of <\/span>Swindon<\/span><\/a> and 2 miles (3.2\u00a0km) northeast of <\/span>Stonehenge<\/span><\/a>. It is on the east of <\/span>Salisbury Plain<\/span><\/a>, the largest remaining area of <\/span>chalk grassland<\/span><\/a> in north-west Europe. The parish includes the military settlement of <\/span>Larkhill<\/span><\/a>, which is approximately half a mile (800 m) west of the village. [3]<\/span><\/p>\n

Larkhill<\/span> is a <\/span>garrison town<\/span><\/a> in the <\/span>civil parish<\/span><\/a> of <\/span>Durrington<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Wiltshire<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>England<\/span><\/a>. It is 800 yards (730 <\/span>metres<\/span>) west of <\/span>Durrington<\/span> village proper and 1\u00a0mi (1.6\u00a0km) north of the prehistoric monument of <\/span>Stonehenge<\/span><\/a>. It is about 10\u00a0mi (16\u00a0km) north of <\/span>Salisbury<\/span><\/a>. [4]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
