14 January 2015, Westmount, QC – The RMR Foundation is sad to announce the death of a beloved friend of the Regiment, the former Honorary Colonel of the Sherbrooke Hussars Regiment: Garry Gould, MC, CD.

Colonel Gould started his military career in the 1930’s with an RMR Cadet Corps that used to meet in NDG’s Trinity Memorial Church.  He always maintained that he felt a little guilty that there were scratches in the pews from the Sam Browne belts they wore at the time.  Garry’s war service was exemplary and can be read in great detail at The Memory Project (you can even listen to a 4-minute audio interview of Colonel Gould describing life as an officer in a Sherman tank squadron).  Even when he was well into his late 80’s he was still assisting the junior leaders of the RMR with their professional development, being a featured speaker on several occasions.
